Course Information and Booking
Illustration Workshops at the Old School Llantwit Major with Local Artist Martin Kaye
Venue: The Old School Wine Street Llantwit Major CF61 1RZ. Courses are run upstairs, and access is via the blue door immediately after the tower.
When: I run two separate groups. Monday evenings 7 to 9pm and Tuesday mornings 9:30 to 11:30am. Courses are run in blocks of 5 weeks.
Audience: The courses are suitable for adults of all abilities with an interest in illustration. Participants must be 18 or older.
Group Size: Between 10 and 15 participants
Course Fees: Each course of 5 weeks costs £35. Fees need to be paid prior to the course starting or on arrival for the first session. Fees can be paid by digital transfer (preferred), cash or card.
If you make a digital payment please let me know and I can confirm the booking for you.
Terms & Conditions: If I or the venue are unable to run a session(s) a replacement session(s) will be offered or I’ll re imburse you for the session(s) lost. You won’t be re imbursed if you are unable to attend once you’ve booked and paid. To keep prices low for everyone and to cover the room hire you can only pay in full for all the sessions.
Course Tutor: I have 35 years of teaching experience in the primary sector, 25 years as a headteacher. Outside my career I’ve been very involved with the visual arts in the local community chairing a number of groups and societies and organising exhibitions and events. My work has been exhibited in several major exhibitions both in the UK and internationally.
What you’ll need to bring: Initially you’ll need an A4 sketchbook or pad and some pencils and pens for mark making. Coloured pencils and paints will be handy, but if you don’t have these don’t rush out to buy before the course. There will be opportunities for you to try out lots of materials so you can make informed purchases.
